About the role

Farm Affairs Consulting (FAC) is recruiting on behalf of an integrated farm in Ngong, Kajiado County for a competent and experienced Poultry & Rabbit Unit Officer. The successful candidate will manage day‑to‑day operations of the commercial layer and rabbit enterprises, focusing on animal husbandry, breeding, feeding, production records, health, hygiene and overall enterprise performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of layer and rabbit units, ensuring proper feeding, watering, housing and animal‑welfare practices.
• Develop and maintain rabbit breeding and selection programmes, recording performance and tracking results.
• Monitor layer flock performance, egg production, feed consumption, mortality and health, and prepare routine production reports.
• Participate in feed‑ration development, adjust quantities and feeding programmes, and oversee feed and veterinary supply stocks.
• Implement biosecurity, sanitation and disease‑prevention measures, and supervise cleaning of housing and equipment.
• Coordinate manure handling within the farm’s integrated nutrient‑management system and support integration with wider farm operations.

Required profile

• Certificate in Animal Health, Production, Poultry or Rabbit Production (or related field) with at least 3 years practical experience in poultry and/or rabbit production.
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience managing livestock production enterprises and maintaining accurate production and breeding records.
• Strong practical animal‑husbandry skills, good observation and problem‑solving abilities, and ability to work independently within farm schedules.
• Integrity, accountability and good communication/teamwork skills.
