Pre‑School & Lower Primary Teacher (Nairobi)

About the role

Pharo School Nairobi is seeking passionate, experienced Pre‑School and Lower Primary teachers to join its Early Years Education team. You will create safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environments for learners from Play Group through Grade 3, delivering age‑appropriate, competency‑based lessons.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, child‑centered lessons aligned with early childhood development principles and the CBE framework.
• Create a safe, inclusive classroom that supports exploration, play, and inquiry‑based learning.
• Support language development, early numeracy, creative expression, motor skills, and socio‑emotional growth.
• Monitor and document each child’s development, identifying delays early and coordinating interventions with support staff and parents.
• Maintain accurate records of student learning and communicate regularly with parents and caregivers.
• Organise and participate in parent‑teacher conferences and early learning workshops.
• Implement consistent, age‑appropriate behavior management strategies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan, reflect on best practices, and contribute to school events and community outreach.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in an early childhood or pre‑primary setting.
• Experience with play‑based learning and child‑centered pedagogy is a strong advantage.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English.
• Patience, creativity, warmth, and a genuine love for working with young children.
