Tutorial Fellow Positions (Various Disciplines)

About the role

Makueni University College, a constituent college of South Eastern Kenya University, is recruiting Tutorial Fellows across several academic disciplines. The role involves supporting teaching, research, and scholarly activities under academic supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct tutorials, practical sessions and other assigned teaching activities.
• Prepare learning materials, set, administer and mark assessments.
• Undertake research, participate in scholarly activities and make satisfactory progress in doctoral training.
• Mentor students and perform relevant departmental and university duties.

Required profile

• Relevant bachelor’s degree (Education or subject‑specific) from an accredited university.
• Master’s degree in the specific discipline (e.g., Philosophy of Education, History, Linguistics, Applied Mathematics, etc.).
• Registration for, or eligibility to register for, a PhD or equivalent doctoral programme.
• Evidence of academic, research or professional capability relevant to the position.

Required skills

• Ability to develop and deliver tutorial sessions.
• Competence in preparing and evaluating assessments.
• Research and scholarly writing skills.
