Press Brake Machine Operator (Sheet Metal Bending)

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Press Brake Machine Operator in Athi River to operate CNC or hydraulic press brake machines and bend sheet metal according to technical drawings and production specifications. The stated salary is KShs 30,000.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CNC or hydraulic press brakes to bend sheet metal to the required angles, tolerances and sequences, adjusting parameters such as bend angle, back gauge position and stroke depth.
• Set up and install tooling such as V-dies, gooseneck punches and radiused tooling, and check alignment before starting.
• Read engineering drawings, flat patterns and bending specifications, and calculate or verify bend allowances and deductions.
• Inspect finished parts for bend angles, dimensions, alignment and surface defects, and correct common bending issues.
• Report machine faults and tooling defects, and help with corrective action to reduce rework and waste.
• Carry out routine machine checks and follow safety procedures, including PPE use and safe handling of sheet metal.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience operating CNC or hydraulic press brake machines.
• Proven experience in sheet metal bending, metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing.
• Ability to interpret drawings and flat patterns and select tooling and machine settings.
• Attention to detail and accuracy within specified tolerances.
