Principal ICT Officer / Infrastructure Management

About the role

The Principal ICT Officer provides strategic leadership, planning, governance and oversight of the bank's ICT infrastructure, ensuring the availability, security, resilience, performance and scalability of the technology platforms supporting business operations and digital transformation. The role also covers infrastructure strategy, project management, standards enforcement, disaster recovery and business continuity, and leading technical teams. It is a full-time management position in Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement ICT infrastructure strategies aligned with organizational objectives and lead infrastructure projects, including upgrades.
• Manage enterprise servers, storage, virtualization platforms and operating systems, and monitor server health and cloud resources.
• Administer Active Directory, identity management, access control, DNS, DHCP, FTP/SFTP and web servers.
• Manage money transfer systems (MoneyGram, RIA, Western Union), backup and disaster recovery, and test business continuity plans.
• Implement security controls, endpoint security, firewalls, intrusion detection and vulnerability management, and conduct risk assessments and compliance audits.
• Manage ICT procurement, vendor relationships, SLAs and contracts, and supervise ICT Officers.
• Prepare project plans, budgets and reports, and participate in digital transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• At least nine years of relevant ICT experience, including three years at the grade of Senior ICT Officer in the public or private sector.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or an equivalent recognized qualification.
• Professional ICT qualification such as Microsoft Certified Professional, VMware VCP, ITIL, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud certification.
• A management course of at least four weeks from a recognized institution.
• Knowledge of Active Directory administration and general desktop support (hardware, software, networking, virtualization, cloud).
