About the role

The Principal Officer – Business Integrity and Compliance will lead the execution of Safaricom’s compliance programmes, ensuring that all business functions operate within the required legal, regulatory and policy framework. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Business Integrity and Compliance, the role adopts a risk‑based approach to protect the company’s integrity and reputation.

Key responsibilities

Proactively execute Safaricom compliance programmes across the organisation.
Coordinate the implementation of the compliance framework by business functions.
Carry out assurance activities to verify adherence to laws, regulations, the Business Code of Conduct, policies and standards.
Apply a risk‑based methodology to identify, assess and mitigate compliance risks.

Required profile

Demonstrated experience in compliance, risk management or related fields.
Strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements applicable to a telecom environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with multiple business units to embed compliance controls.
