Regional Compliance Manager

About the role

You will own the regional compliance framework for a fast‑growing lending business operating across multiple African jurisdictions. The role ensures growth is possible within regulatory rules, working closely with business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain policies, procedures and internal controls aligned with Group standards.
• Develop practical compliance controls for branches, field and partner teams.
• Partner on new market entries and product launches from feasibility to go‑live.
• Oversee AML/CFT, KYC, sanctions and financial‑crime programmes regionally.
• Run compliance monitoring, track findings to closure and lead regulatory reporting.
• Guide local compliance teams, deliver training and coordinate with Legal, Risk and Internal Audit.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance, risk, audit or regulatory affairs, preferably in financial services or fintech.
• Experience implementing AML/CFT programmes and multi‑jurisdictional compliance.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work with senior stakeholders.
