About the role
The Principal Officer will act as the company’s main liaison with the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) and provide strategic leadership across all insurance operations. You will ensure full regulatory compliance, drive business growth, and safeguard the firm’s financial health.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact with the IRA, ensuring compliance with the Insurance Act, AML regulations, and all licensing requirements.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to expand market share, build partnerships, and manage high‑value client relationships.
- Establish robust internal controls and risk‑management frameworks to protect the organization.
- Manage relationships with underwriters, reinsurers, brokers, and industry associations.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance or a recognised Diploma in Insurance (e.g., College of Insurance Kenya, Chartered Insurance Institute).
- Full professional qualification in Insurance (ACII or AIIK) is mandatory.
- Minimum five years of experience in the insurance industry.
