Procurement and Stores Officer

About the role

The Procurement and Stores Officer will manage the end‑to‑end sourcing of raw materials, packaging, and operational supplies for a food manufacturing operation. You will ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with food‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to obtain best price and quality.
• Prepare purchase requisitions, orders and maintain procurement documentation.
• Oversee receipt, storage, issuance and accurate recording of inventory using an inventory management system.
• Conduct regular stock counts, reconcile physical inventory and trigger replenishment to avoid stock‑outs.
• Maintain warehouse organization, apply FIFO/FEFO principles and safeguard goods against damage or loss.
• Monitor procurement spend, track market prices and recommend cost‑saving measures within approved budgets.
• Evaluate supplier performance, resolve issues and coordinate supplier audits.
• Prepare regular procurement and inventory reports for management.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with at least 5 years of experience in procurement, stores or supply‑chain functions.
• Experience in food manufacturing or similar production environment.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
