Procurement Manager

About the role

Science for Africa Foundation is recruiting a Procurement Manager based in Westlands, Nairobi. The role covers end-to-end procurement, vendor management, contract and compliance management, and leading a procurement team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field; a Master's degree is an added advantage.
• CPSP-K certification (Kenya Institute of Supplies Management) or internationally recognised qualifications such as MCIPS or CPSM.
• Minimum 7 years' procurement experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Experience in a donor-funded, international or research-support organisation is desirable.

Required skills

• End-to-end procurement, vendor management and tendering procedures.
• Drafting, negotiating and overseeing contracts in line with internal policies and funder regulations.
• Cost control, financial analysis and use of integrated procurement and finance systems, including dashboards.
• Risk identification and mitigation, internal controls and audit readiness.
• Stakeholder engagement, negotiation, leadership of a procurement team and policy and process improvement.
