Procurement Specialist

About the role

Puratos is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support and optimise procurement operations in Kenya. The role focuses on aligning local sourcing and import/export activities with global standards while driving cost efficiency and supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Align procurement activities with Puratos’ global strategy, policies, and procedures.
• Source raw materials locally and internationally in a cost‑effective manner.
• Create, manage, and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Oversee import/export processes, including documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, clearing agents, and government authorities.
• Maintain and update the supplier database according to vendor management standards.
• Support supplier performance evaluations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and sustainability standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning teams to avoid stock disruptions.
• Prepare procurement reports and provide actionable insights for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of professional experience in procurement and supply chain operations.
• Proven experience in import/export operations and local sourcing.
• Solid understanding of international trade regulations and Kenyan customs procedures.
• Professional certification (CIPS, CPSP‑K) or KISM membership is an advantage.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
