Program Officer – Imarisha Msichana Scholarship

About the role

The Program Officer will support the Imarisha Msichana Scholarship Programme, coordinating activities across schools funded by the Mastercard Foundation. The role focuses on reducing teen pregnancy and child marriage while strengthening girls' education and empowerment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate programme activities and support project implementation.
• Monitor programme progress, collect and analyse data, and prepare reports.
• Coordinate with partners, stakeholders, county governments, civil society and local communities.
• Organise capacity‑building activities and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
• Mentor and monitor scholarship students in participating schools.
• Create awareness and secure stakeholder commitment to end teen pregnancy and child marriage.
• Strengthen social accountability among duty‑bearers and enhance young people’s agency regarding sexual and reproductive health rights.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Education, Gender Studies, Project Management or a related field.
• At least two years’ experience in girls’ education and managing scholarship programmes.
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct issued within the last six months.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse backgrounds and tolerate differing opinions.
• Understanding of socio‑cultural and economic issues related to teenage pregnancy.
• Willingness and ability to travel by road to field locations.
