Programme Associate, Finance – Programme Division (PD)

About the role

The Programme Associate, Finance supports the global Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) team within UNFPA's Gender, Human Rights and Inclusion Branch. Based in Nairobi, the role provides financial management, procurement, and general administrative services for the Programme Division.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor financial resources and provide analysis to the CSE Coordinator.
• Review project expenditures, identify issues, and propose remedial actions.
• Prepare and revise budgets, financial reports, and budget modifications for donor‑funded projects.
• Ensure all financial transactions comply with UNFPA rules, donor requirements, and the Chart of Accounts.
• Consolidate quarterly and annual financial reporting from country and regional offices at the global level.
• Review and process invoices and vendor payments, maintaining supporting documentation.
• Prepare Quantum requests and validate related accounting entries.
• Collaborate with implementing partners on financial and procurement matters.

Required profile

• Experience in financial management, budgeting, and reporting within an international development context.
• Familiarity with UN financial rules, donor compliance, and procurement procedures.
• Ability to analyse financial data, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
