Programme Finance and Reporting Analyst

About the role

The Programme Finance and Reporting Analyst will support UNEP's environmental programmes by managing financial planning, budgeting, and reporting activities. This position is based in Westlands, Nairobi and works closely with project teams and donors to ensure transparent and accurate financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, monitor and analyse programme budgets, forecasts and financial statements.
• Produce regular financial and performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain and update ERP systems (SAP) for grant and fund management modules.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and other business‑intelligence tools.
• Support audit processes and ensure compliance with UNEP financial policies.
• Collaborate with GEF project teams to align financial reporting with donor requirements.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field (or a first‑level degree with at least two years of relevant experience).
• Professional certification such as CPA, CA or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of experience in project finance, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Experience with SAP ERP, especially grant and fund management modules.
• Proven ability to work with Power BI and other data‑analysis tools.
