Project Director – Child Development, Care & Protection

About the role

CRS is looking for a Kenyan national to lead a multi‑county project that strengthens child protection systems, supports families, and advances early childhood health and development. As Project Director you will oversee all aspects of project delivery, ensure donor compliance, and coordinate with government and partner stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison with ministries, county governments, civil society, and community networks.
• Lead the design, implementation, monitoring, and close‑out of the project in line with CRS quality standards and donor guidelines.
• Manage sub‑awards, budgets, and reporting to ensure compliance and financial integrity.
• Oversee recruitment, supervision, coaching, and performance assessments of senior staff.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate security and operational risks.
• Integrate project activities with the global team and ensure effective partnership management.

Required profile

• Kenyan national with extensive experience in managing large‑scale humanitarian or development projects.
• Proven track record in donor compliance, sub‑award management, and partnership coordination.
• Strong leadership and people‑management skills, able to mentor senior staff.
• Experience working with government ministries and multi‑stakeholder environments.
