Project Driver – Transport & Logistics Support

About the role

The Project Driver will provide safe and reliable transport for staff, partners, and visitors as part of the Sightsavers and Mastercard Foundations Digital Futures partnership in Kenya. This role involves both office‑based coordination and frequent field travel to support project activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule driver activities using the project calendar and transportation register.
• Facilitate pick‑ups for visitors and coordinate transport during official visits.
• Monitor vehicle mileage, arrange routine service, and ensure timely maintenance.
• Schedule periodic vehicle examinations and manage license renewals.
• Track tyre condition, insurance renewals, and perform daily pre‑ and post‑trip inspections.
• Maintain the assigned vehicle(s) in good running condition, checking oil, water, battery, brakes, and tyres.
• Provide logistical support for office and field project activities.

Required profile

• Secondary school certificate with driving school training or equivalent experience.
• Valid Class C driver’s licence and a clean driving record.
• Previous professional driving experience, preferably in an NGO, embassy, or UN setting.
• Experience in defensive driving is desirable.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy – proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Basic computer literacy – proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
