Regulatory M&A Lawyer

About the role

BREMER, a boutique law firm active across the Middle East and Africa, is expanding its presence in Kenya. We are looking for a full‑time Regulatory M&A Lawyer to join our Nairobi office and advise clients on merger control, foreign direct investment and related regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on regulatory compliance and requirements for M&A transactions, focusing on merger control and FDI screening.
• Analyse Kenyan, COMESA and EAC legal frameworks and assess their impact on deal structures.
• Draft and review legal documents, including transaction agreements and regulatory filings.
• Liaise with Kenyan regulatory authorities and regional bodies.
• Provide strategic guidance and risk assessments to clients throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders on cross‑border matters.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in transaction‑related regulatory matters, especially merger control and FDI screening under Kenyan law, COMESA and EAC regulations.
• Exceptional analytical abilities to evaluate regulatory implications on deals.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex legal concepts.
• Experience in M&A transactions, antitrust, and corporate law is a significant asset.
• Proven ability to maintain client relationships and deliver results under tight deadlines.
• Licensed to practice law in Kenya.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
