Relationship Manager – Public Sector Banking

About the role

Family Bank is hiring a full-time Relationship Manager for its Public Sector Banking Commercial Division in Nairobi, reporting to the Head of Government and Institutional Banking. The role drives business growth through acquiring new business and growing the portfolio, implementing business development initiatives and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop business opportunities and monitor activities in line with the Bank's strategic and annual plans, reacting quickly to market changes.
• Provide input on the Public Sector short- and long-term strategy to grow wallet share and revenue.
• Visit Treasury, parastatals, ministries and donors regularly to update information on priority projects and funding sources.
• Build a target market database and run a strong calling program to generate sales.
• Act as liaison between clients and internal operations to deliver deposits, loans, trade finance and remittances.
• Manage credit applications: gather documents, assess creditworthiness, prepare loan contracts and cross-sell products.
• Maintain relationships with customers and partners, embed strategic marketing and build the Family Bank brand.
• Ensure compliance with Central Bank of Kenya guidelines and the Banking Act.

Required profile

• Business degree (Master's or AKIB preferred).
• Professional certification.
• At least 7 years in banking, including 5+ in public sector relationship management.
• Sound knowledge of business banking products and exposure to public sector banking.
