Research & Insights Director – Jobtech Alliance

About the role

The Jobtech Alliance, a Pan-African ecosystem-building initiative around inclusive jobtech in Africa, is looking for a Research & Insights Director. You will lead the insight generation, research and learning strategy and its implementation, including on the DAWN project, and work with teams to turn research into action. The role is full-time, national, and involves travel of up to 20% across the continent, including regularly within Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Craft and refine the research and insights strategy (updated at least quarterly) and the learning-for-action plan, identifying themes and methods and leading the research plan for DAWN, including its Learning Pilot evaluation.
• Lead research with acceleration start-up partners on product design, business model strategy, user impact and operations, and advise the team on emerging research topics.
• Oversee analysis and production of outputs such as 5-10 page learning reports and 1-2 page blogs, and manage researchers, consultants and data collectors.
• Lead the evidence, analysis and recommendations for the Year 1 Learning Pilot evaluation, and deliver DAWN's research products while ensuring ethical, inclusive data collection and safeguarding compliance.
• Work with the Ecosystem and Communications teams to decide who needs to see each piece of research and how to reach them, including through workshops, webinars and events.
