Restaurant Hostess

About the role

The Restaurant Hostess will be the first point of contact for guests, shaping their overall dining experience. You will manage reservations, walk‑ins, waiting lists and table allocation while ensuring smooth service flow.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly, recognize returning customers and personalize service.
• Manage reservations, telephone enquiries and walk‑in guests efficiently.
• Maintain accurate waiting lists, provide realistic wait times and keep guests informed.
• Seat guests intelligently based on reservations, floor plan, server rotation and guest preferences.
• Coordinate VIP arrivals, large parties and special requests.
• Monitor the dining floor, anticipate table turnover and communicate with servers and managers.
• Gather guest feedback and flag any issues to management promptly.
• Keep the host station clean, organized and presentable, and ensure menus and guest‑facing materials are up‑to‑date.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good memory for guest names and preferences.
• Ability to follow grooming and presentation standards.
