Risk and Compliance Manager – Fixed Term (P-4) – Somalia Desk

About the role

The Risk and Compliance Manager will be based in Nairobi, supporting UNICEF’s Somalia Country Office. Reporting to the Deputy Representative, Operations, the role is critical for safeguarding resources and ensuring programme delivery in a highly complex humanitarian environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and strengthen risk management, assurance and compliance activities across the Somalia Country Office.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve risk management practices at process, system and entity levels.
• Provide oversight of financial assurance, cash transfers and partner capacity building.
• Identify, assess and mitigate programmatic, fiduciary and operational risks.
• Support senior managers with risk‑based decision making and reporting to donors.

Required profile

• Significant experience in risk, compliance or fiduciary oversight, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work in complex, high‑risk environments with multiple partners.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with a focus on safeguarding programme integrity.
• Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience.
