About the role
HiHome Appliances Limited is looking for a motivated, detail‑oriented Tax Compliance Intern to support its tax function in Nairobi. The role offers hands‑on experience with Kenyan tax filings and audits.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and file monthly VAT returns and reconcile VAT records.
- Assist with internal and external VAT audit preparation.
- File statutory taxes such as PAYE, Housing Levy, NITA, NSSF, SHIF and withholding tax for consultants.
- Support the preparation and filing of corporate income tax returns.
- Handle Withholding VAT (WHVAT) and Withholding Rental Income Tax (WHRent) filings.
- Conduct periodic tax reconciliations and internal reviews.
- Monitor tax compliance across all branches.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
- CPA Part I or Part II completed.
- 3–6 months previous internship experience at an audit firm.
- Basic understanding of Kenyan tax laws and filing procedures.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with accounting applications.
