Rotating Paraeducator – Early Childhood (Head Start)

About the role

The Early Childhood Office seeks a dependable Rotating Paraeducator to support Pre‑K and Head Start classrooms across multiple sites. This 7‑hour‑per‑day, part‑time position provides flexible staffing coverage, including short‑term classroom support and coverage during staff absences.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instructional activities and classroom management for children ages three to five.
• Provide short‑term support in various classrooms, small‑group instruction, and coverage during staff transitions.
• Perform related clerical tasks and support teachers in implementing the instructional program.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree (or equivalent experience) with coursework in education or related field.
• Experience working with children in structured settings such as daycare or preschool.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, exhibit patient behavior, and work effectively with young learners and staff.

Required skills

• Knowledge of child development and instructional strategies.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and web‑based instructional tools.
• Successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment with a qualifying score of 455 or higher.
