Sales Agronomist

About the role

The Sales Agronomist will drive sales and market growth of agricultural inputs by providing professional agronomic advice to customers, agrovet outlets, farmers, and institutions. This role blends technical agronomy expertise with sales and business development to meet sales targets and strengthen market presence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales plans, identify new customers, and grow sales of agrochemicals, fertilizers, seeds, and animal health products.
• Provide agronomic advice, recommend appropriate inputs, conduct farm visits, and support customers in crop production programs.
• Conduct product demonstrations, farmer training, gather market intelligence, and represent the company at industry events.
• Coordinate with warehouse and procurement teams on stock availability and monitor product performance.
• Maintain accurate customer records, sales reports, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture or related field (Diploma considered with strong sales experience).
• 2–4 years experience in agribusiness sales, preferably with agrovets, distributors, or commercial farms.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing new markets.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of crop production, pests, diseases, fertilizers, agrochemicals and seeds.
• Integrated pest management and basic animal health principles.
• Sales and customer relationship management.
• Microsoft Office and basic sales reporting tools.
