Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager - Networking & ICT

About the role

Broadband Communication Networks Ltd is looking for a results-driven Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager in Nairobi to lead sales of its Networking, ICT Solutions and Fixed Data services. The role blends technical knowledge with business development, covering LAN/WAN, WiFi, Unified Communications, Cybersecurity, Fixed Data and Video Conferencing.

Key responsibilities

• Sell Networking, ICT and Fixed Data solutions to target segments and achieve revenue and profitability goals.
• Promote LAN/WAN, Fixed Data, WiFi, Unified Communications, Cybersecurity and Video Conferencing solutions.
• Lead pre-sales work: solution scoping, technical validation and commercial proposals.
• Develop solution designs, Statements of Work (SOW) and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Turn client needs into scalable, cost-effective architectures.
• Support internal teams with technical advice and give product guidance during the sales cycle.
• Deliver client presentations, demonstrations and proposals, and negotiate deals against KPIs.
• Build long-term relationships with customers, partners and vendors, and represent the company at industry events and partner meetings.
• Travel to client sites and events within Kenya and the region as required.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Electronics Engineering.
• Networking industry certifications preferred (e.g. Cisco CCNA, Fortinet, Juniper).
• Minimum 4 years' experience in networking, ICT and fixed data solutions; technical pre-sales experience is an advantage.
• Proven track record of managing complex sales cycles from design to close.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, project tools such as MS Project and CRM systems.
• Numerical and analytical ability, strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tenders and opportunities at once.
