SBC in Education Editor (Remote, Nairobi)

About the role

The consultant will develop a Social and Behavioural Change (SBC) Investment Case and a Compendium of best practices for education, using desk reviews, literature analysis and interviews with UNICEF Country Offices.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct desk reviews of academic and grey literature on SBC in education over the past 10 years.
• Prepare a 4‑6 page Investment Case covering vision, challenges, UNICEF response, results and investment opportunities.
• Collect and cluster at least 30 examples of SBC best practices from 20+ UNICEF Country Offices, organized around eight thematic pillars.
• Write and edit the Compendium of Best Practices, including visual proposals, and deliver final reports by the specified deadlines.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Social and Behavioural Science, Education, Communication, Journalism or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in research, analysis and editing.
• Fluent in English and French; knowledge of Portuguese is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of UNICEF’s SBC Programme Guide and editorial standards.
