Scrum Master (5)

About the role

A tier-1 bank represented by Stratostaff East Africa is looking for experienced Scrum Masters to drive innovation and excellence in technology delivery. The role reports to the Head, Business Services & Solutions and involves managing Agile practices so that teams stay aligned with project goals and organisational objectives, while acting as servant leaders who facilitate collaboration and self-organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Champion Agile values, principles and practices, and facilitate ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives
• Guide teams in adopting Agile methods (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.) and mentor them toward greater self-organisation, productivity and efficiency
• Remove impediments to delivery and help resolve conflicts
• Work with Product Owners on backlog management and prioritisation, and with Technology Relationship Management teams to align deliverables with business goals
• Manage stakeholders and vendors, create and manage release plans, and monitor team performance with feedback
• Present progress reports and completed deliverables to stakeholders, and track performance with Agile metrics

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
• At least 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments

Required skills

• Proficiency with Agile tools and techniques, including burndown charts and retrospective formats
• Knowledge of complementary Agile methods such as Kanban, XP, TDD and BDD
• Strong understanding of software development processes and team dynamics
