Security Guard

About the role

The Security Guard will protect the premises of BrighterMonday Consulting in Westlands, Nairobi. You will conduct patrols, monitor access points and respond to incidents to ensure a safe environment for staff, visitors and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regular foot patrols to deter theft, vandalism, fire and other security breaches.
• Verify identification at entry points, maintain visitor logs and issue passes as required.
• Observe, document and report suspicious activities, incidents or hazards to supervisors or the control room.
• Enforce company security policies, conduct authorized searches, manage crowds and control traffic within the site.
• Provide first response during emergencies, assist with evacuations and coordinate with police or emergency services.
• Assist visitors, staff and clients courteously while upholding security protocols.
• Maintain personal appearance, uniform and equipment in good condition.
• Attend mandatory training on security procedures, first aid, fire safety and conflict management.
• Perform static guarding or shift‑based duties, including night, weekend and public holiday shifts.

Required profile

• Kenyan citizen with a valid National ID.
• Minimum KCSE certificate.
• Height of at least 5.6 ft.
• Fluent in English and Kiswahili, with good reading and writing skills.
• Good physical fitness, clear vision and hearing, and no serious medical conditions.
• Willingness to work day, night, weekend and holiday shifts.

Required skills

• Basic first‑aid knowledge.
• Understanding of fire‑safety procedures.
• Ability to handle conflict situations calmly.
