Senior Accountant

About the role

The client, an established investment and financial services group, is looking for a hands‑on Senior Accountant to own accounting operations, reporting, compliance and financial controls across its real‑estate and investment entities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly and year‑end close for all group entities, preparing management accounts, balance sheets, cash‑flow statements and supporting schedules.
• Post accruals, pre‑payments, provisions, depreciation and other month‑end journal entries.
• Prepare consolidation schedules, inter‑company reconciliations and perform variance analysis against budgets.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including invoice verification, collections, aged analyses and reconciliations.
• Manage service‑charge accounting, payroll processing, statutory deductions and fixed‑asset register maintenance.
• Monitor cash positions, support cash‑flow forecasting and handle all statutory tax filings (VAT, PAYE, NSSF, etc.).
• Coordinate interim and annual audits, prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor queries.
• Serve as a key user of the group ERP/accounting system, driving improvements, migrations and data integrity.
• Identify automation opportunities, supervise the Junior Accountant and provide financial analysis for budgeting, forecasting and board reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA(K) qualified or at final stage with a clear completion timeline (ACCA or equivalent acceptable).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in real‑estate, property management or investment management.
• Proven experience managing full month‑end close cycles and preparing management accounts.

Required skills

• ERP/accounting system proficiency.

What we offer

• Competitive gross salary ranging from KES 150,000 to KES 300,000 per month, dependent on experience.
