Senior Accountant

About the role

The Partnership Agency is recruiting a Senior Accountant for Rad borne Clark Kenya Ltd, a company in the FMCG, food and beverage sector based in Nairobi. The Senior Accountant oversees day-to-day financial operations, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, strengthens internal controls and supports strategic financial planning. The role also involves leading junior accounting staff.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and ensure compliance with IFRS, Kenyan tax laws and internal policies.
• Oversee general ledger posting, reconciliations and financial close, and coordinate external audits.
• Assist in annual budgets and forecasts, monitor actuals versus budget and give recommendations to improve performance.
• Review and approve journal entries, supplier invoices and payment vouchers; oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll; reconcile bank, supplier and control accounts.
• Prepare and file VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, NSSF, NHIF and corporate tax returns, liaise with KRA and advise management on tax planning.
• Strengthen internal controls, identify process gaps, support implementation of accounting systems and automation tools.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff and promote accuracy and accountability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA (K) / ACCA qualification required.
• Minimum 5-7 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years at a senior level.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Kenyan tax regulations.

Required skills

• Experience with accounting/ERP systems such as Sage, QuickBooks or SAP.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail, with good communication and leadership abilities.
