Senior Accountant – Manufacturing Finance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Nairobi. The role focuses on delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting processes, and ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP within a fast‑moving manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS/GAAP.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts, including banks, payables, receivables and inventory.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, monitoring variances and recommending corrective actions.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely invoicing, collections and supplier payments.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, maintaining documentation and compliance with tax and statutory requirements.
• Supervise and mentor junior accountants, driving process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Monitor daily cash positions, manage disbursements and prepare cash‑flow forecasts.
• Provide financial analysis and support to senior management for investment and cost‑optimization decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA (K) or ACCA.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a high‑volume manufacturing or warehousing setting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, budgeting, audit processes and statutory reporting.
