Senior BESS Procurement Manager – Europe

About the role

JUMBO Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Senior BESS Procurement Manager to lead procurement activities for utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Europe. You will work with leading investors and developers, shaping procurement strategies and expanding the firm’s service offering in a fast‑growing market.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute end‑to‑end procurement strategies for BESS project packages.
• Manage the full tender lifecycle, including RFI, RFP, evaluation, negotiation and award.
• Lead commercial negotiations for battery supply agreements, EMS platforms, Balance of Plant components, EPC/E‑BoP packages and long‑term service agreements.
• Coordinate technical, legal and financial inputs to ensure compliant and cost‑effective contracts.
• Support hybrid projects that combine BESS with solar or wind assets and contribute to co‑location and grid optimisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in procurement for large‑scale energy infrastructure or renewable projects.
• Strong understanding of European regulatory frameworks affecting BESS deployments.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with OEMs, utilities, investors and developers.
• Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Battery Supply Agreements (BSA) and OEM sourcing.
• Familiarity with Energy Management Systems (EMS) and control platforms.
• Understanding of Balance of Plant (civil, electrical, substations, grid connection) components.
• Experience with EPC/E‑BoP package procurement.
• Ability to draft and manage Long‑Term Service Agreements (LTSA) including warranties and performance clauses.
