Plumber – Wastewater & Sewage Pump Specialist

About the role

Amentum is looking for an experienced plumber to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The position centers on the operation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater facilities and submersible sewage or wastewater pump systems.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment facilities to meet operational standards.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair submersible sewage and wastewater pumps.
• Install, repair, and maintain water, gas, and sewage piping in accordance with technical specifications and safety codes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and technical manuals to ensure correct installation and repairs.
• Document inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities for regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with supervisors and team members during routine work and emergency response.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years of experience maintaining and repairing submersible sewage or wastewater pumps.
• Hands‑on knowledge of wastewater facility operation.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport with at least one year of validity and ability to travel internationally.
• Pass contract medical requirements and maintain them throughout deployment.
