Architectural Technologist

About the role

Blueprint Design and Build Ltd. is seeking a full-time Architectural Technologist to join its Nairobi office. The role bridges design and construction, ensuring that concepts are translated into accurate, build-ready documentation and that projects progress smoothly on site.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and produce technical, working and detailed architectural and construction drawings.
• Collaborate with architects, designers and project managers to ensure design intent is accurately implemented.
• Maintain regular on-site presence to coordinate with site personnel, resolve technical queries and monitor progress.
• Liaise with suppliers to source materials, obtain quotations, verify specifications and coordinate deliveries.
• Ensure all drawings comply with Kenyan building regulations and incorporate functional and sustainable design principles.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of professional experience in architectural technology or a similar role, preferably within a design-build environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Architectural Technology or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail and effective communication skills.
• Familiarity with sustainable building practices and design-build methodology is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD software.
• Technical drawing expertise.
• Creation of accurate working, architectural and construction drawings.
• Understanding of building codes, materials and construction methods.
• Supplier liaison and site coordination experience.
