Senior Business Analyst (Banking)

About the role

A tier-1 bank, recruited through Stratostaff East Africa, is looking for experienced Senior Business Analysts to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. The role ensures that business requirements are turned into actionable technical outcomes and that projects are delivered successfully.

Key responsibilities

• Elicit, analyse, validate and document business and technical requirements, keeping them clear, consistent, traceable and verifiable.
• Prepare business, technical requirements and functional specifications, and transfer documented knowledge to development teams.
• Collaborate on solution architectures and designs aligned with business needs and enterprise architecture roadmaps.
• Validate test cases and scenarios, and take part in UAT, regression testing and post-implementation reviews.
• Engage business stakeholders to prioritise initiatives and keep them informed of progress.
• Review and propose improvements to deployment models for new and existing solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field; a Master's in Business Administration or Project Management is a plus.
• At least 5 years in IT roles, 3 years in business analysis and architecture, and 4 years in IT project management.
• Advanced certifications such as ITIL Foundation, CBAP and TOGAF (mandatory).
• Certifications in project management or Agile (e.g. PRINCE II, AgilePM, CSM) are an advantage.

Required skills

• Experience with emerging technologies such as mobile banking, cloud services and microservices.
• Exposure to system and application support is desirable.
