Senior Business Development Executive

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Business Development Executive to drive large‑scale private international medical insurance sales for a leading provider. Based in Nairobi’s Westlands district, you will lead end‑to‑end acquisition of high‑value corporate and multinational accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, pursue and close large, high‑value new business accounts across corporate, multinational, NGO, diplomatic and institutional segments.
• Engage directly with C‑suite, board, HR and procurement decision‑makers to build senior‑level relationships.
• Manage complex, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles from initial contact through negotiation, policy issuance and client hand‑over.
• Develop and maintain a senior network within corporate, multinational, NGO, diplomatic and broker communities relevant to IPMI and group health insurance.
• Collaborate with underwriting, insurer panels and product teams to tailor multi‑jurisdictional schemes and premium rating.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Insurance, Commerce or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of proven sales or business development experience in IPMI, corporate health insurance or employee benefits, with a track record of winning large, complex accounts.
• Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed senior individual revenue targets and close deals above the standard pipeline.
• Professional insurance qualifications (CII, ACI, or equivalent) are a strong advantage.
• Fluency in English; additional languages relevant to the target market are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with digital sales and presentation tools.
