Senior Commercial Manager

About the role

Yara is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to lead its Kenya commercial operations. Reporting to the Vice President, East Africa, the role will drive market growth, manage key accounts and distributor relationships, and align commercial activities with agronomic expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the annual commercial plan for Kenya, setting volume, revenue and market‑share targets.
• Identify new growth opportunities across regions, crops and customer segments.
• Monitor competitor activity, pricing and market trends and translate insights into action plans.
• Own the Kenya commercial P&L, delivering revenue, margin and profitability targets.
• Build and manage strategic relationships with key accounts, distributors and agro‑dealers.
• Lead joint business planning and annual trading term negotiations with top‑tier accounts.
• Collaborate with the Agronomy Manager to ensure commercial strategies are underpinned by sound agronomic recommendations.
• Lead, coach and develop the commercial and key‑account team, setting targets and reviewing performance.
• Manage the commercial and trade‑investment budget, ensuring strong ROI.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, trade ethics and Kenyan fertilizer regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Crop Science, Soil Science or a related field.
• MBA or postgraduate qualification in Business, Marketing or Agribusiness Management (advantage).
• 8–10 years of progressive commercial, sales or key‑account management experience in fertilizer, agro‑input or agribusiness.
• At least 4 years in a senior commercial role with key‑account accountability.
