Senior Database Developer - ETL & SQL Server

About the role

Cigna Healthcare is recruiting a Senior Database Developer for its Internal Markets Integration Team within the Global Health Benefits delivery group. The team manages Cigna's ETL integration points between policy administration and front-end systems and supports projects centred on Salesforce and policy administration platforms. The role reports to a Data Engineering Manager and involves working with teams across different technologies and locations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain and enhance core ETL processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve SQL Server-related issues.
• Collaborate with senior developers and business stakeholders to document requirements and design solutions.
• Develop and optimize SSIS packages and T-SQL code, including stored procedures, views and functions.
• Model and document SQL data mapping solutions with business and technical teams.
• Support regular releases and monitor data processing batches.
• Suggest improvements to code, tools and processes.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience developing and supporting SQL Server solutions.
• Experience in Agile development teams; exposure to SAFe or other Agile frameworks is desirable.
• Self-motivated, strong communication and teamwork skills, committed to quality and governance.

Required skills

• Strong T-SQL and relational database concepts.
• ETL experience, preferably with SSIS.
• Knowledge of OLAP and OLTP environments.
• Ability to reverse engineer code.
• Desirable: C#, VB.net, Python / PySpark, Git, SQL Change Automation or Liquibase, CI/CD, SSRS.
