Senior Frontend Engineer (React / Next.js)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to design and deliver high‑performance, accessible web applications for enterprise cloud platforms serving users across Africa. The role combines deep frontend expertise with a broad understanding of backend, mobile, design, cloud, and security domains.

Key responsibilities

• Build high‑performance, accessible client web architectures using React, Next.js and TypeScript, focusing on Core Web Vitals.
• Architect and scale reliable core APIs, micro‑services and payment integration layers using Node.js or Python, with deep SQL/NoSQL and Redis expertise.
• Engineer, test and maintain cross‑platform mobile applications with Flutter, handling complex state management and native device integrations.
• Translate digital transformation goals into user‑centric wireframes, journeys and responsive interfaces using Figma and reusable component libraries.
• Manage, secure and automate cloud hosting, CI/CD pipelines and container deployments on AWS/GCP with Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab/GitHub.
• Proactively protect enterprise applications, conduct network vulnerability assessments and support security operations with relevant certifications.

Required profile

• 4+ years of production experience with React and Next.js.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and a strong focus on performance optimisation.
• Advanced skills in Node.js or Python, and extensive experience with SQL, NoSQL and Redis.
• Proven portfolio of production‑grade Flutter applications.
• Expertise in UI/UX design using Figma and building reusable component libraries.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD automation.
• Security certifications such as CEH, CISA or CISSP and experience in penetration testing.
