Senior HR & Operations Officer – AIM Program (Kisii/Kakamega)

About the role

The AIM Regional HR & Operations Officer will oversee HR service delivery and operational efficiency for the AIM programme in the Kisii and Kakamega region. The role combines recruitment, staff welfare, performance management, compliance, procurement, office administration and fleet management, while also acting as the primary safety and security focal point.

Key responsibilities

• Support recruitment and onboarding of branch and casual staff, maintain recruitment tracker and verify statutory documentation.
• Manage probation reviews, contract start/end dates, and ensure timely renewals and payroll inputs.
• Maintain staff databases, enrol staff in statutory benefits and oversee insurance coverage.
• Provide training on HRIS navigation, maintain movement and attendance registers, and monitor leave balances.
• Assist the Country Office HR team with performance appraisal processes and staff wellness initiatives.
• Implement occupational health and safety measures, conduct workplace checks and report incidents.
• Promote safeguarding culture by ensuring adherence to HR policies and code of conduct.
• Coordinate regional procurement plans, manage end‑to‑end procurement cycles, conduct market research and maintain procurement records.
• Oversee office administration, ensure maintenance of facilities, manage supplies and supervise administrative staff where applicable.
• Manage the regional vehicle fleet, develop maintenance schedules and monitor fuel consumption.
