About the role

ServerHub is looking for an experienced Senior Linux System Engineer (Level 3) to lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of high‑performance hosting platforms. You will act as the final escalation point for complex issues and ensure our infrastructure remains secure, reliable, and scalable.

Key responsibilities

Serve as the L3 escalation point for critical server, hosting, and network incidents.
Administer and optimise Linux environments (CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL) and web servers (Apache, Nginx, LiteSpeed).
Manage databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and caching layers (Redis, Memcached).
Develop automation scripts (Bash, Python, Perl) and use Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools for provisioning.
Deploy and maintain virtualization and container platforms (KVM, OpenStack, VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).
Support cloud solutions on AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
Implement security controls, perform vulnerability assessments, and manage patching.
Configure monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Nagios) and participate in 24/7 on‑call rotation.
Collaborate with NOC, DevOps, and engineering teams and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

11+ years of hands‑on Linux system administration in a web‑hosting or cloud environment.
7+ years in a senior or L3 engineering role.
Proven expertise with KVM and Livbirt (or equivalent virtualization technologies).
Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, and Perl.
Experience with configuration‑management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, load balancing).
Familiarity with RAID, SAN, NAS, and distributed storage.
Ability to work in a 24/7 production environment with on‑call duties.
Good English communication skills.
