Senior Manager, Data Systems

About the role

Trees for the Future is looking for a Senior Manager, Data Systems in Nairobi to manage, configure, implement and continuously improve its Salesforce environment. It is a hands-on role for an experienced Salesforce professional who combines strong administration and functional expertise with project management, requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement skills. The Senior Manager works closely with MEL, Programs, Carbon, Fundraising and other teams to turn business needs into practical Salesforce solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Salesforce administration and configuration, and drive continuous improvement of the Salesforce environment
• Take system improvements from requirements through design, configuration, testing, user acceptance, deployment and documentation
• Work with external Salesforce development and consulting partners so that solutions match the organization's data model and technical standards
• Bridge users and technical teams: understand workflow problems with program staff, configure solutions where possible, work with developers on custom development, and verify results before they reach users
• Build automated, decision-oriented reports and dashboards, using BI platforms such as Power BI
• Initially report to the Senior Director of MEL, then to the Director of Data Systems once that position is filled

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, Business Systems, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5-7 years of progressive Salesforce administration and data systems experience, able to configure objects, fields, flows, validation rules, reports, dashboards and permissions
• Salesforce Administrator certification (ADM 201) or equivalent demonstrated expertise
• Experience gathering requirements, managing projects and implementations, and coordinating user acceptance testing and controlled releases
• Experience working with external developers and consultants, and with data governance, change management and integrations
• Preferred: advanced Salesforce certifications, Salesforce NPSP, TaroWorks or similar mobile data collection platforms, and experience in international development, climate, agriculture or social impact organizations
