Senior Quality Assurance Analyst

About the role

A tier-1 banking institution, recruited through Stratostaff East Africa, is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst in Nairobi to improve the quality of its software development processes and deliver high-performing, secure banking solutions. The role suits a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in software QA, testing methodologies and IT project management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead business requirement reviews and define and run project test strategies, estimating test effort and aligning test plans with delivery timelines.
• Develop, document and maintain manual and automated test cases, scripts and test data, with full traceability to business requirements.
• Refine SQA processes with Enterprise Architecture, implement automation tools and create reusable templates.
• Drive non-functional testing: integration, regression, performance, security, usability and load testing.
• Track defects, generate periodic test reports and acceptance criteria for releases, and run post-deployment regression tests and implementation reviews.
• Drive software process improvement strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field; a Master's in Business Administration or Project Management is an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 years in software quality assurance, 4 years in IT projects and 2 years with emerging technologies such as mobile, cloud, microservices and internet banking.
• Certifications required: ISTQB, CSTE, CSQA, CAST, CMSQ; preferred: PRINCE2, AgilePM, PMI-ACP or CSM.

Required skills

• White-box and black-box testing, automation frameworks, performance and security testing, and Agile/Scrum.
• Hands-on experience with automation testing tools and scripting languages.
• Solid understanding of SQL, database management and SOA integration.
