Senior Technical Advisor – HIV Care and Treatment

About the role

PATH Kenya seeks a Senior Technical Advisor to provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for integrated HIV/TB care and treatment services across selected counties. The role reports to the Deputy Chief of Party and serves as the primary liaison with County Departments of Health.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee integrated HIV/TB service delivery at project-supported health facilities, ensuring alignment with national and global guidelines.
• Contribute to work‑plan development, support evidence‑based service‑delivery strategies, and monitor performance against donor targets.
• Collaborate with ministries, local governments and NGOs to strengthen health‑system capacity and referral networks.
• Drive sustainability and transition efforts by engaging county leadership and advancing transition roadmaps.
• Serve as County Focal Person, supervising project staff and ensuring effective coordination and accountability.

Required profile

• MBChB or equivalent with a Master of Public Health (MPH) or similar qualification.
• Minimum seven years of public‑health experience, including at least five years in a senior supervisory role within the Ministry of Health or a donor‑funded HIV/AIDS program.
• Demonstrated expertise in integrated HIV guidelines, HIV/TB program metrics, donor compliance, and Kenya’s devolved health‑system architecture.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of current integrated HIV guidelines and HIV/TB program performance metrics.
• Experience with donor compliance requirements and health‑system strengthening in Kenya.
• Ability to navigate national, county, sub‑county and facility‑level health structures.
