Senior Technical Lead (SaaS Platform Governance)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Lead to act as an independent technical authority for a third‑party vendor delivering a multi‑tenant SaaS platform. Reporting to the UK Technical Product Lead, you will ensure platform integrity, enforce standards, and prepare the groundwork for an in‑house engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Independently review vendor architecture, code quality, and delivery claims against documented evidence.
• Define and enforce technical standards across the platform as the design authority.
• Hold the vendor accountable to architectural principles, documentation, and delivery commitments.
• Challenge the vendor on architectural decisions, design trade‑offs, and technical risk.
• Validate security, audit‑trail, and data‑segregation designs for multi‑tenant environments.
• Support acceptance testing, technical sign‑off, and change‑control processes.
• Identify and flag technical risks or shortcuts before they affect stability or compliance.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap and governance framework with senior stakeholders.
• Prepare standards and structures for building an in‑house engineering team post‑MVP.
• Recruit, lead, and manage the future in‑house engineering team.

Required profile

• 7+ years of senior software engineering experience, preferably on multi‑tenant SaaS platforms.
• Experience in financial services is highly advantageous.
• Proven experience designing or reviewing security, audit‑trail, and data‑segregation architecture at a platform level.
• Ability to work independently and critically assess technical delivery.
