Service Technician (On‑Site)

About the role

The Shaw Group Limited is seeking an on‑site Service Technician to join its Hardwood Lands, NS maintenance team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will ensure mobile and site equipment operate safely and efficiently through hands‑on maintenance and repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of mobile and site equipment such as loaders, forklifts, graders, excavators and dump trucks.
• Diagnose mechanical issues, conduct timely repairs, and minimise equipment downtime.
• Assist with troubleshooting and minor repairs of plant equipment as required.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records and manage parts and materials inventory.
• Keep the work area clean, safe and organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum 2–5 years of hands‑on mechanical or equipment‑repair experience.
• Strong working knowledge of heavy equipment and diesel engines.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues independently.
• Experience in industrial, construction or production environments is an asset.
• Self‑motivated, safety‑focused and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills for record‑keeping.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when needed.
