Site Engineering Head (API)

About the role

Sun Pharma is seeking a senior leader to head engineering operations for its API manufacturing site. The role oversees utilities, power, maintenance, and engineering projects, ensuring compliance with cGMP, FDA regulations and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure optimal availability of engineering services, including utilities and power.
• Deliver projects on schedule, within approved budgets and resource constraints.
• Prepare, monitor and control revenue and CAPEX budgets, including power and fuel budgets.
• Maintain preventive maintenance and calibration schedules and investigate engineering deviations.
• Close CAPA and CCR actions timely and manage SAP, track‑wise CAPA, LMS and DCM activities.
• Review and approve SOPs, conduct risk impact analyses, assessments and re‑assessments.
• Lead energy conservation initiatives and liaison with government agencies for statutory compliance.
• Ensure compliance with quality, EHS policies, cGMPs and the company’s code of conduct.
• Oversee equipment and facility maintenance, resource allocation, manpower productivity and contractor contracts.
• Drive training and development for the engineering team.

Required profile

• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 15‑20 years of experience in an API plant environment.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP, FDA regulations and industry best practices.
• Proven ability to manage large budgets and lead cross‑functional engineering teams.
