Product Support Engineer

About the role

The Product Support Engineer provides engineering assistance for Wipaire’s aircraft float products, supporting both internal teams and external customers. The role involves troubleshooting, design improvements, and collaboration on R&D projects to ensure safety and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct technical support to internal and external customers, troubleshooting issues and issuing No‑Technical Objection letters.
• Analyze and resolve systemic safety and service problems, generate repair schemes, and review Engineering Change Requests.
• Participate in product improvement initiatives, including material review boards, FAA substantiation, and documentation updates.
• Assist marketing by preparing introductory materials and maintain non‑FAA technical publications such as parts manuals and work instructions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline.
• 3–6 years of practical aerospace engineering experience, preferably with structural design and repair.
• Knowledge of FAA certification processes, engineering drawings, and documentation control.

Required skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for component and assembly level evaluation.
• Aerodynamic and structural analysis techniques for certification reports.
• Material processing of aluminum, steel alloys, heat treatments, and composite structures.
• Proficiency with design tools for creating technical plans, blueprints, and models.
