About the role
The Social and Tax Justice Campaigner will support the Fair Share campaign across Greenpeace Africa, designing evidence‑based, data‑driven initiatives that address progressive taxation, resource distribution and socio‑economic inequalities. Working closely with fundraising, communications and research teams, the role will help shape strategy, engage diverse stakeholders and amplify campaign impact.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the Fair Share project proposals, assessments and implementation plans.
- Coordinate with project co‑leads and the fundraising team to maximise fundraising potential and ensure timely delivery of campaign activities.
- Engage governments, businesses, lawyers, media and civil‑society groups to promote progressive tax and redistribution policies.
- Collaborate with research functions to mine data and insights that inform campaign design and responsive interventions.
- Represent Greenpeace at meetings, coordination bodies and media events, and produce briefings and updates for internal and external audiences.
- Support monitoring, reporting and evaluation processes for the Fair Share project and share learning across the network.
Required profile
- University degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Policy, Development or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in campaign management, coordination or policy advocacy.
- Strong understanding of progressive taxation, revenue redistribution and socio‑economic inequality.
- Experience working in an international, multicultural team with a Pan‑African mindset.
- Proven ability to negotiate, build consensus and facilitate dialogue among diverse stakeholders.
