About the role
UNICEF’s Global Programme Division (GPD) Centre of Excellence for WASH in Nairobi is seeking a Social & Behavior Change Specialist (P-3) on a fixed‑term basis. The specialist will support emergency preparedness and response by strengthening Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) and Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) across multiple countries.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to Country Offices and partners on RCCE and AAP during public health emergencies.
- Develop and disseminate guidance, tools, and best‑practice resources for community engagement and risk communication.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing, capacity‑building workshops, and training sessions for national and regional stakeholders.
- Collaborate with governments, NGOs, and UN agencies to align strategies and ensure coordinated response.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of communication interventions and report findings to senior management.
Required profile
- Advanced degree in public health, social sciences, communication, or a related field.
- Significant experience in designing and implementing RCCE or community engagement programmes in humanitarian or emergency contexts.
- Proven ability to work with diverse partners and navigate complex multi‑stakeholder environments.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with fluency in English.
